Amanda Fodor earns All-State Chair
Posted: 12-01-2009

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Please join me in congratulating Amanda Fodor (senior) for qualifying to perform with the 2009 All State Senior Orchestra (3rd chair French Horn).  This is an extremely prestigious honor for a high school musician, and it is very rare that anyone from the Eastern Shore qualifies (she is the only student from the entire shore this year).

Amanda studies privately with Mary Bison of the Baltimore Symphony, studies music with me in the Wicomico County VPA program, travels to many University Honor Bands as far away as WVU and Towson, and participates in many musical ensembles including the Parkside Symphonic Band, Salisbury Symphony, and Salisbury Community Band among others.

Also, congratulations are in order for Erick Miranda (sophomore) and Sarah Ha (freshman), who also auditioned for the group.  They both gave great auditions, and certainly deserve our recognition for all of their hard work.

I am extremely proud of these student's musical accomplishments and I feel fortunate to have Amanda represent the Parkside High School Band at the festival.  If you see Mandy, please be sure to congratulate her.

Thank you,

Kevin A. Zaczkiewicz
